DENVER ZOO MEMBERSHIP HITS RECORD BREAKING NUMBER
68,450 Households are Members of Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo has reached an all-time high of 68,450 member households, which translates into approximately 239,575 individuals, an all-time high in the zoo's 116-year history. This breaks the record membership set in 2010 of 64,040 member households.

"It is very special for us to share the Denver Zoo experience with as many people as possible," says Director of Membership and Annual Fund Bill Tortorici. "Being a member is one of the best ways to support and engage with the zoo. Every member helps us work towards our mission – to secure a better world for animals through human understanding."

In addition to unlimited visits, zoo members enjoy a 20 percent discount on items purchased in gift shops and 10 percent discount at the zoo's concession locations. Members also receive discounts on education programs and various special events.

"With 80 acres of exhibits and animals to explore, it is easy to make the most of a Denver Zoo membership. If you visit more than twice a year then getting a membership makes sense," says Tortorici. "Visit for a few hours or immerse yourself in a day-long adventure, without the pressure of having to squeeze everything into one trip."

This summer, Denver Zoo members may enjoy the zoo 30 minutes before admission gates open to the general public. This early access allows members to see zookeepers preparing for the day and to enjoy easy parking and cooler temperatures.

Zoo membership also allows you to experience Toyota Elephant Passage. This new, groundbreaking exhibit was designed with so many options for animals and keeper staff that you will never have the same visit twice. While visiting Toyota Elephant Passage is included with membership, members still need to make a timed entry reservation through the end of the summer. Denver Zoo members enjoy express admission at the zoo entrance, early opportunities to purchase tickets to zoo events, free publications, and discounts on education programs. Membership is good for a full year beginning on the date of purchase.
