Zoo Honored for Water Re-Use – Denver Zoo was named the 2011 WateReuse "Customer of the Year," recognizing the zoo's use of reclaimed water. Vice President for Planning and Capital Projects George Pond accepted the award at the 26th Annual WateRuse Symposium this week in Phoenix. Since 2004, Denver Zoo began using reclaimed water as part of its main entry plaza and Predator Ridge exhibit. Our new exhibit, Asian Tropics, will hold more water than the rest of the zoo combined, but the impact will be minimal, because of a state-of-the-art filtration system. Learn more.
