Where to See Animals in Asian Tropics – Put this information in your "save for later file." There are three spots in Asian Tropics where you can see Malayan tapirs, greater one-horned rhinos or Asian elephants pass right in front of you. One is just southwest of the Chang Pa Watchtower, provided by Dr. and Mrs. James S. Ogsbury III, where animals will cross at the Wells Fargo Wildlife Crossing. No. 2 is on either side of Peter and Ella's Crossing (the animal transfer bridge just as your enter the east entrance). No. 3 is at the Clayton F. Freiheit Elephant House where you can watch animals transfer from the habitats on either side of the Elephant House.

Sparkling Zoo Lights Returns on December 9 – The 21st annual Zoo Lights returns to Denver Zoo on December 9. This holiday tradition again features nearly 40 acres of lights and 150-plus animated animal sculptures throughout the zoo. Don't miss out on all the fun – Santa Claus, fire dancers, ice carvers, animal demos, holiday treats and much more. This nightly event – 5 to 9 p.m. – runs through January 1, 2012. Learn more.

Take an Urban Safari on December 14 – Take the ultimate Urban Safari on Wednesday, December 14 and enjoy the holiday spirit of Denver Zoo and historic Larimer Square. The safari includes free shuttles to and from the zoo and Larimer Square and starts at 4 p.m. at Corridor 44, 1433 Larimer St. Guests then shuttle to the zoo at 6 p.m. and return at 8 p.m. Tickets include a drink coupon and light appetizers at Corridor 44 and a hot beverage at Denver Zoo and a visit to Zoo Lights.
