Toyota Elephant Passage Entry Reservations Available May 14 – Guests eager to see Denver Zoo's new Toyota Elephant Passage exhibit opening June 1 may begin making their online entry reservation on May 14 to ensure entry into the exhibit. There is no additional fee to enter Toyota Elephant Passage as the exhibit is included with general admission. However, reservations are necessary to ensure entrance into the exhibit. Boat-billed Herons Fledge – Three Denver Zoo boat-billed herons, which hatched on March 11, recently fledged, meaning they left their nest for the first time. This is a significant stage in their young lives as their wings get stronger. Boat-billed herons are tropical wading birds native to Central and South America. They use their bills, which look like overturned boats, to scoop up shrimp and other bottom dwelling aquatic prey. Guest can see the trio in Bird World today. Watch video of the fledglings here.

Summer Shows Return May 26 – The summer shows are back! Beginning May 26, Denver Zoo visitors will be able to enjoy the expanded shows and demonstrations of the summer season. Running daily through Labor Day, guests can be wowed by the animals of the Wildlife Show and then meet a few of its stars up close. Volunteers will bring animal stories to life in the Wild Encounters Amphitheater and our resident pinnipeds will strut their stuff in the expanded summer Sea Lion Show. Don’t miss out.
