Steller's Sea Eagles Get Acquainted - Denver Zoo's two Steller's sea eagles are sharing the same perch for the first time ever. The breeding pair lived in the same large enclosure outside of Bird World, but was separated for a year by fencing until male, Vlad, was old enough to live with the formidable female, Ursula. Recently the fencing came down and the two are getting along great. Not many zoos exhibit these remarkable raptors, but Denver Zoo has a large exhibit that will hopefully stimulate these fabulous birds of prey to breed successfully. See video of the pair here.
Free Admission, Tours for Veterans - Denver Zoo is excited to offer free admission to the zoo for veterans on November 11 and 12 and support a new generation of veterans and their families. Families of veterans will receive a discounted admission of $6.00 per person and children 2 and under are free. The zoo will also offer free 90-minute, guided tours designed to engage families of veterans in a fun-filled day together exploring the zoo's public areas. Zoo Lights Returns to Denver Zoo - Come and experience a holiday light safari with our annual Zoo Lights celebration, presented by Your Neighborhood Toyota Stores, from November 30 to January 2, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Take a stroll through 40 brilliantly-illuminated acres of lights, featuring more than 150 animated animal sculptures that swing through trees, jump across lawns, hide in bushes and appear in places where they're least expected.
