Thank You for Making Colorado Gives Day a Huge Success! - Because of the generous people who chose to support Denver Zoo on Colorado Gives Day, we were able to raise nearly $17,000 in a single day! We thank you for your support which will help us continue to improve the quality of care for our animals, enhance the guest experience and find new and creative ways to use this magnificent facility for education, conservation, research and the benefit of our community. By choosing to donate to Denver Zoo, you have helped us continue to be one of the top zoos in the country!

Lion cub
Triplet Lion Cubs Arrive from Qatar - The pitter patter of little paws can now be heard in Predator Ridge for the first time since 2006 with the arrival of three lion cubs from the Royal Family of Qatar. The three cubs, including two males, Tsavo and Enzi, and female Sabi, were born June 24, 2012 and will likely only live at Denver Zoo temporarily until permanent homes are determined. Weather permitting; visitors can see the triplet cubs in Predator Ridge during the next few months of their temporary stay. Learn more about how these cubs found their way to Denver Zoo.

Pinata Party
Zoo Lights Celebrates Cultures from Around the World - Enjoy the festivities and activities of holiday celebrations from across the globe at this year's Zoo Lights, presented by Your Neighborhood Toyota Stores. Visit the Celebration! Pavilion at the Conoco Zoo Gardens and enjoy an evening of entertainment, including a nightly piñata party where kids can enjoy music, crafts, dancing and even receive a treat. Guests can also enjoy strolling through the Festival of Lanterns in the new, award-winning exhibit, Toyota Elephant Passage. The ten-acre exhibit is decorated with lanterns handmade by craftsman in Asia and lit with eco-friendly LED lights. Learn more about Zoo Lights.

Elephant in Vietnam

Supporting Conservation in Vietnam - Three Denver Zoo staff members just returned from a conservation trip to Vietnam to study Asian elephant populations. At the Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve, Vice President of Animal Collections Brian Aucone, Curator of Toyota Elephant Passage Dale Leeds and zookeeper Gabe Kibe helped train the rangers to conduct a scientifically valid census of the reserve's elephants by tracking the pachyderms' feces. When the rangers finish the study, likely at the end of March 2013, it will help them create a plan to evaluate and protect the elephants living in the reserve. Learn more about Denver Zoo’s conservation programs around the world.

Mini-Camps Provide Activities During School Breaks - Make plans for your children on those days when they don't have school. In addition to two mini-camps featured in December, there will be three mini-camps in January where kids can meet real animals from popular kids' movies as they tour the zoo on the lookout for their very own stars. Daily mini-camps run January 2, 3 and 4 and kids can get "pawsome" autographs at up close encounters with some of the featured creatures and learn about the real-life habitats of admired animals. Camps are available for pre-k through 5th grade students. Sign up now.
