Lake Titicaca Frog
Unraveling the Genetic Mystery of the Lake Titicaca Frog - Denver Zoo Assistant Curator of Tropical Discovery Tom Weaver and Tropical Discovery Keeper Cj Vialpando just returned from Lima, Peru for conservation studies of the critically endangered Lake Titicaca frog. During the trip Denver Zoo staff and local biologists collected DNA samples of many frogs that call Lake Titicaca home to determine if they are all the same species or different ones. Learning more about the frog's family tree will help experts develop an action plan to help the frogs survive. Learn more about Denver Zoo’s many field projects here.

Introducing New Do At The Zoo Chair, Katie Magner - Plans for the 2013 Do At The Zoo gala, on June 20, are underway and new excitement is being generated by the new event chair, Katie Magner. Magner will be using her experience on the Denver Zoo board of trustees and her extensive knowledge of fundraising to make this year's Do At The Zoo better than ever. Be ready to get your green on for this earth-friendly event and help the zoo raise funds to support our numerous sustainable practices. Learn why Denver Zoo is the Greenest Zoo

Share Your IRA with the Zoo - Please consider naming Denver Zoo as a beneficiary of your IRA and support zoo programs across the globe. Many advisors point to retirement plan assets, like IRAs, as some of the best estate assets to leave to charity because otherwise they may face double taxation. If left to heirs they are subject to income taxes and if left to someone other than a spouse, they are subject to income and possibly estate taxes. Leaving a small portion, or the entire amount, to Denver Zoo after your lifetime is an excellent way to stretch every dollar of your IRA which will contribute to the zoo's mission.
