ASSEMBLIES

Exciting & Dynamic experiences that take large groups on an educational safari showcasing amazing live animals!

Where:  At the Zoo
Who:  Groups up to 250 participants
When:  M-F, Sept-April (not offered in May-Aug)
Times:  10am, 11am, 12pm
Cost:    $4/student; Minimum of 50 students             required


Where:  At Your Facility
Who:     Groups up to 250 participants
When:   Dates and start times vary, offered year
             round
Cost:      For program dates from 1/1/2008 to
              5/31/2008 $225/first assembly, $125    
              each additional, consecutive assembly.  For program dates beginning                               6/1/2008 $300/first assembly, $150 each additional, consecutive assembly.

Things To Know:

  • Zoo scholarships are available through Denver Zoo's Red Apple Fund.
  • Please book at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • A cancellation fee of 50% of program costs applies with less than 2 weeks notice.
  • Outreach only-Layover fees may apply to multiple programs.
  • Outreach only-Travel fees apply outside of SCFD

  • Cancellation of Programs at the Zoo:
    Classes and programs canceled or rescheduled with less than 2 weeks notice prior to the scheduled program will be charged 50% of the total cost. Red Apple Scholarship awards will not apply to cancellation fees.



Animal Expeditions
 (Grades K-6)
Science K-2:  3.1, 3.5,  
Science 3-5: 3.1, 3.4
Geography 1.2, 2.2

  • Come face to face with exciting live animals with amazing adaptations.
  • Travel to different geographical biomes around the world to visit grasslands, rainforests, deserts, wetlands and temperate forests.

Rainforest Adventure (Grades 3-8)
Science 3-5: 3.1, 3.4
Science 6-8:  3.8, 3.11
Geography 1.2, 2.2, 5.3

  • Learn the characteristics of tropical rainforests and discover how we are connected!
  • See live animals demonstrate how they have adapted to living in the forest layers.

Wild Wonders (Grades 6-12)
Science 6-8:    3.13
Science 9-12:  3.16

  • Highlight the special “super powers” of these species and illustrate how amazing animal adaptations have inspired human invention.
  • Learn that animals senses and adaptations can be “extreme” compared human senses
  • Discover different animal habitats, survival strategies, conservation information and other fun facts.
