ZOO PROGRAMS

OUTREACH AND AT THE ZOO ASSEMBLIES

Exciting & Dynamic experiences that take large groups on an educational safari showcasing amazing live animals!


Where:  At the Zoo
Who:  Groups up to 250 participants
When:  M-F, September-May
Times:  10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon
Cost:    $6 per student; minimum of 50 students required

Where:  At Your Facility
Who:     Groups up to 250 participants
When:   Dates and start times vary, offered year
             round
Cost:     $350 per first assembly, $150 for each additional consecutive assembly.

Things To Know:

  • Bilingual assemblies may be available upon request.
  • Please register at least two weeks in advance (requested dates are guaranteed upon confirmation by Denver Zoo).
  • Outreach Only - Assembly room policies
  • Outreach Only - Travel fees apply outside of SCFD.
  • Outreach Only - Layover fees apply to breaks exceeding 60 minutes between programs.
  • Scholarships are available through Denver Zoo's Red Apple Fund.

  • Cancellation of Programs:
    Classes and programs canceled or rescheduled with less than 2 weeks notice prior to the scheduled program will be charged 50% of the total cost. Red Apple Scholarship awards will not apply to cancellation fees.



Animal Expeditions
 (Grades K-6)

  • Come face to face with exciting live animals with amazing adaptations.
  • Travel to different geographical biomes around the world to visit grasslands, rainforests, deserts, wetlands and temperate forests.


Animals “Whooo” Are Up All Night
(K-6th)- only available At your location
2010 Standards: Life Science 1.2, 2.2, 4.2, 5.1

  • Meet animals that sleep during the day and are awake at night.
  • Learn about animals’ unique adaptations to help them survive in the dark.
  • Hear folklore stories about the role of these animals in different cultures throughout the world.


Wild Wonders

  • Highlight the secrets of animal survival and illustrate how amazing animal adaptations can be.
  • Compare ecosystem “specialists” who are ideally suited to a specific environment and animal “generalists” who can thrive just about anywhere!
  • Discover different animal habitats, survival strategies, conservation information and other fun facts.
