Denver Zoo Mini-Camps offer a fun and educational way to spend those days off of school, offered during school breaks October-February. Spring Safari and Summer Safari are week-long camps during spring break and summer vacation.

 Summer Safari
Zooper Heroes Day Camp
Children should be registered for the grade level they will be entering in Fall of 2013.
Pre-K children must be at least 4 years old prior to their first day of camp.
Summer Safari is a week-long day-camp for animal lovers from Pre-K through 8th grade. The fun-filled educational curriculum is developed based on Colorado Academic Standards and camp themes vary by grade level. Campers participate in hands-on activities, zoo exploration, animal encounters and observations, crafts, games, stories, projects and more.
Summer Safari 2013 will run 10 weeks from June 3 - August 9.
Pre-K
Planet Patrol
Join the Planet Patrol to help stamp out pollution in the air, water & land. Learn about plants and animals that help keep our world clean and how you can too! Use your super hero skills to uncover the mystery of who polluted the Platte, and take the pledge to patrol the planet and protect the planet from the dreaded Pollution Pirates!
Recycling Rangers
Get ready to ride, Recycling Rangers, and learn how you can reduce, reuse and recycle! Discover nature’s animal recyclers, and get an up-close look at how these important creatures help you, me and all the other animals on the planet. Have a race with a dung beetle, build a recycled raft, and ramp up your recycling - at home and at the zoo!
K-1st Grade (½ day and full day)
Habitat Heroes
Every animal needs a home. Join Captain Habitat on his quest to learn what things every animal needs to survive, and how we can make sure their habitats stay safe. Habitat Heroes help create bird- and butterfly-friendly habitats, and explore the urban wildlife that share their neighborhoods!
Power Pack
Power up for this active class that explores animal "zooper powers"- fantastic features animals have that help them survive. Discover how things like sharp claws, keen eyesight, tough scales, powerful wings and fast feet turn animals into super heroes in their environment. Power Pack campers also discover their own super powers, and how they can use them to help animals!
2nd & 3rd Grade
Food Web Force
All living things, from the tiniest plant or insect to the largest elephant or whale, have a special role they play in the web of life. And so do you! Discover the Zooper Hero food chain - meeting Producers, Consumers and Decomposers that help keep our world healthy. Uncover your secret identity as a Hero for the Planet.
Water Warriors
Become a Water Warrior, on a mission to preserve clean water for animals, plants and people! Get a closer look at animals that depend greatly on water for survival, and how the water cycle connects us all to faraway oceans and streams. Perform water quality experiments, search for water insects, and join the crusade for clean water!
4th & 5th Grade
Eco-Action Team
Connect and Protect, Eco-Action Team! Explore the natural world to discover how you are connected with it and take steps to protect the things that are most important to you. Learn about zoo animals that are facing environmental challenges in the wild, and spring into action by participating in conservation projects. Lead by example, and teach others how to make a change!
6th - 8th Grade
Citizen Scientists
You can make a difference! Learn about key issues for animals around the world, and the people that are critical to making positive change. Add your own voice to the solution as you get involved with conservation across the globe. You’ll take action as a citizen scientist in your own community, go behind the scenes at the zoo, and meet some of our own keepers and researchers that are helping animals every day.
NEW ADVANCE CAMP: My Future, My Zoo for 8th Graders:
WEEK OF JUNE 10th - 14th only
Cost: Member: $340/Non-member: $365
Do you dream of one day working in zoo? There are a plethora of opportunities, but where do you begin? Not only will this camp help you learn about career options at the zoo, but you will get to meet the people who do those jobs everyday! Shadow our teen volunteers and learn the important first steps in working in this field. Participate in hands on, authentic and fun activities that allow you to see what it is really like to work at the zoo. Interact with zoo keepers, veterinarians, conservation biologists, horticulturists and educators who together are helping to secure a better world for animals through human understanding.
COST:
Members: full day $250; half day $145 (4th of July week: full day $200, half-day $116)
Non-member: full day $275; half day $155 (4th of July week: full day $225 half day $126)
New Advanced Camp; My Future, My Zoo - for 8th Grade Only - available only the week of June 10-14
Members: $340 / Non-members: $365
PLEASE NOTE:
Pre-K camps are offered as half day only. AM sessions are from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.. PM sessions are from 1-4 p.m.. Children may be enrolled in only the AM or the PM, not both in the same week.
K-1 camps are offered as half day (same hours as above) or full day.
2nd – 8th grade camps are full day only. (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Early Drop-Off and Late Pick-Up options are available. Early Drop-Off begins at 7:30 a.m. and Late Pick-Up is available until 5:30 p.m. You will see these options when you register.
Lunch is not included in camp fees. Your camper may bring lunch or you may purchase lunch for $45 at the time you register for camp.
REGISTRATION TIPS:
In an effort to be as fair as possible, registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration is offered online only. Camp spaces are limited. To save yourself valuable time when registering, prior to your registration date, please be sure you know how to log into your account. You may check on your account here. You may create/login to your account prior to registration to become familiar with the process without needing to make a purchase.

MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION FORM: Required only if your child has severe allergies requiring potential use of an EpiPen or Inhaler or any other need for medications. Please complete only the portions of the form that pertain to your child’s situation. Download the form here.
Scholarships are available. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, do not register online. Mini Safari Day Camps
(Mini Safari Day Camps are offered only during the school year.)
A great alternative to sitting at home during those days out of school…participate in animal encounters, special zoo experiences, active tours, lively games and creative activities. Camp sessions are available for kids in Pre-K through 5th grade. Pre-K children must be 4 years old in order to attend Denver Zoo camps. Each camp runs from 9am-4pm daily, and includes morning and afternoon snacks. Children need to bring their own lunches. Early drop-off and late pick-up options are available..
COST: Per day / per camper is $48 for Denver Zoo Members and $52 for Non-Members.

- Denver Zoo Members MUST login under their 6-digit Member ID number to receive discounted member rates for mini-camp. Your password is your zip code, unless you have previously changed your password information in the online system.
- After registration is confirmed, the Denver Zoo adheres to a NO-REFUND, NO-CREDIT, NO-SUBSTITUTION policy. If you are unable to attend, please consider your payment a tax-deductible donation.
