Consider booking one of these related programs to provide your students with a unique experience that deepens their learning at the zoo and/or in the
classroom. Advance registration is required of all programs.


Education Programs at Denver ZooUnit-aligned programs that immerse your students in the animals, ecosystems and culture of Toyota Elephant Passage, during your field trip at Denver Zoo.
"Animals Around the World" Zoo Ed-venture TrekTake the learning from the classroom to the field, as zoo educators lead your students on an educational journey through Toyota Elephant Passage! Zoo Ed-venture Treks are immersive programs aligned with Colorado Academic Standards that take place entirely in Toyota Elephant Passage, with opportunities for observation, inquiry and discovery.
In this Zoo Ed-Venture Trek: Journey through tropical Asia, as you discover how animals influence culture and contribute to a region’s uniqueness. This program has been intentionally created to support the 3rd grade Animals Around the World Field Trip Discovery Unit.
Who: Up to 30 participants
When: Available Mon-Fri, September 17-May 17, 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon (max of three classes per day)
Cost: $7/student; Smaller groups will be charged for a minimum of 15 students

Bunk with the Beasts Overnight Adventures at Denver Zoo
Bunk with the Beasts is an overnight learning adventure at Denver Zoo, designed to encourage bonding time, shared projects and special zoo experiences to create memories that will last a lifetime. Although this program is not currently aligned specifically with the Toyota Elephant Passage Field Trip Discovery Units, it explores topics matching this unit's general theme. Below are the Bunk programs that we recommend for this Field Trip Discovery Unit. Please visit the link below for more information on this additional program opportunity.
- Africa: Predator vs. Prey
Who: Up to 100 participants
When: Available September -May, 6:30 p.m. to 10 a.m. Visit our website or email us at bunkwiththebeasts@denverzoo.org for a custom date to work with your schedule.
Cost:$49/student; 1 chaperone per 10 students FREE. Additional chaperones $39.

Important Things to Know for All Extension Learning Opportunities:
- Please register at least two weeks in advance (requested dates are guaranteed only upon confirmation by Denver Zoo).
- Bilingual programs may be available upon request.
- Scholarships are available through Denver Zoo's Red Apple Fund.
- For Outreach Programs, travel fees apply outside of SCFD, and layover fees apply to breaks exceeding 60 minutes between programs.
