Bunk with the Beasts Family CampOUTS **SOLD OUT!!**

Conservation & Husbandry Innovations for the New Decade
(This conference is closed to non-zoo professionals.)

Come to Denver and share in the most up-to-date information regarding the care and management of the orangutan in captivity. Join with other orangutan caregivers, managers, researchers and field biologists to share the most current information on husbandry, conservation and emergent issues pertaining to captive and wild populations of orangutans. The Workshop will be preceded by the Orangutan SSP Masterplan meetings, which are closed sessions for part of the day. These meetings will take place on Sunday, September 26.

Junior Explorers - Kid Primatologists - Monkeys and Apes

DZ Naturalists - Orangutan: Person of the Forest
October 16 from 1-3:30 p.m.
They have the longest childhood of any animal in the world, except humans.  They are capable of many facial expressions.  Their name means “person of the forest”.  And they are critically endangered.  Visit the orangutans, learn more about our similarities and differences, and talk about what we can do to help. Family Book Clubs - One Duck Stuck By Phyllis Root

2010 Mini-Camp Sessions - Creepy Creatures
October 28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Ewwww!  Get up close and personal with critters that creep and crawl. Explore strange animals with gross habits, and visit cool creatures of the night in this pre-Halloween camp.

Each mini-camp date offers programs from 9am-4pm, for children in Pre-K through 5th grade.When registering, please register your child for the camp that corresponds to their current grade in school.  Pre-K campers must be 4 years old.

Photograph our dragon light sculpture, dragon moray eel, Komodo dragons, bearded dragons, and so much more!

Join us for an evening of Zoo Lights and close up photography with reptile animal demonstrations inside Tropical Discovery at Denver Zoo with staff photographer Dave Parsons this December 4 (tickets are non-refundable).

This will be a fun opportunity to learn how to take macro photos, time exposures and experiment with flash photography.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to photograph and touch some of the reptiles including lizards and snakes during the animal demo! Learn more and sign up!
