They say an elephant never forgets, so don’t miss Denver Zoo’s celebration of the Thai festival, National Thai Elephant Day, in honor of our resident pachyderms Mimi and Dolly.

Activity Station: Asia: Elegant Elephants
10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Learn about the many facets of the complex connections between humans and Asian elephants and what Denver Zoo is doing to help this endangered species.
Activity Station: Trumpeting Trunks and Tantalizing Tusks
10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Learn about human-elephant relationships and examples of ways you can contribute to the future of the elephants by raising awareness of the elephants’ plight and taking positive conservation action to help save this endangered animal.
Activity Station: LEEDing the Way to Toyota Elephant Passage
10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Denver Zoo’s new exhibit, Toyota Elephant Passage, will be at the leading edge for zoo exhibitory. Not only will Toyota Elephant Passage house Asian elephants and other endangered Asian wildlife, the design and use of the new facility will change how zoos house their animals. Learn about this new exhibit and how Denver Zoo is LEEDing the way for new exhibitory design.

Join Denver Zoo’s resident Asian elephants Mimi and Dolly celebrate National Thai Elephant Day with a traditional elephant buffet.

Explore the cultural of Thailand through dance as Wat Buddhawararam of Denver shares traditional dances from Thailand.
