Denver Zoo offers exciting and dynamic assemblies that take large groups of students in all grades on an educational safari around the world! Zoo educators will engage your students with interactive and fun activities and amazing live animals. Participants will join our educators in celebrating the wonder and awe of animals in these lively experiences!

Cost

  • Within SCFD: $400/first assembly (Mini-assembly $275 first assembly), $175 for each additional consecutive assembly.
  • Outside of SCFD: Minimum of two programs must be booked - $640/two assemblies, (Mini-assembly $515/two assemblies),  $175 for each additional consecutive assembly.

Program Information

Animal Expeditions

K – Adult | Up to 250 Participants

Learn about different habitats by exploring the world and learning about animals’ food, water, shelter and space.

ZOOperheroes

K – Adult | Up to 250 Participants

Spiderman and Ironman have nothing on these amazing ZOOperheroes. Learn about Denver Zoo animals that have fantastic adaptations that help them survive the perils of the natural world.

Mini-Assembly: Scutes and Scales

K – Adult | Up to 50 Participants

Explore the scaly world of reptile defenses through games, biofact exploration, and live animals.

Registration

  • Please register on-line. If you have registration questions, please call 720-337-1468 or email outreach@denverzoo.org.
  • Access to Awe scholarship funds may be available to groups that qualify
  • Requested dates are not guaranteed until confirmed by Denver Zoo
  • Please register at least THREE weeks in advance
  • Payment is required at least THREE weeks in advance
  • If you have more than the maximum number of participants, you will be charged for another assembly
  • Programs should take place indoors unless otherwise arranged with Denver Zoo during registration
  • Layovers of over 1 hour between programs are not permitted
  • Consecutive programs should take place in the same location
  • Programs canceled or rescheduled with less than three weeks notice before the scheduled program date will be charged 50% of the total cost. Access to Awe scholarship funds do not apply to any cancellation fees.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of live animals, Denver Zoo Outreach cannot guarantee which animals are at any program. Animals in programs may eat nuts. Be aware of allergies.

Denver Zoo Outreach space requirements:

  • Ground level or elevator access
  • An unloading and parking area close to the program location, with access for a rolling cart
  • Two large tables (6-8 feet preferred)
  • An adult representative in the room during the program who actively assists with participant behavior management
  • No other activities in presentation room during both setup and presentation
  • No food or drink
  • No other animals
  • Presenter will arrive 15-30 minutes prior to program for set up
  • Programs should take place indoors unless otherwise arranged with Denver Zoo during registration
