School Group Overnights

Bring your school group to spend a night at Denver Zoo! Each bunk overnight adventure features different activities geared toward different themes. Schools can help make curriculum come alive with engaging programs that support Colorado Academic Science Standards. You and your group will explore the Zoo and its exhibits after hours, get close encounters with Zoo animal ambassadors, and participate in fun hands-on games and activities while learning all about animals at Denver Zoo.

    (One adult per 10 children is free)

Program Information

Africa: Predator vs. Prey

Grades 1st – 3rd | September - May

Your zoo safari will bring you face to face with predator and prey! Discover their adaptations for tracking the herd or escaping the hunt. Prowl with the pride and run with the pack as you view lions, wild dogs, hippos and other residents of the majestic African savanna. This bunk is geared toward 1st through 3rd grade students and supports Colorado Academic Science Standard 2.1 for 1st grade and 2nd grade.

Rainforest Wonders

Grades 4th – 6th | September - May

In this bunk you will investigate the layers of the rainforest, as you travel from the forest floor up through the canopy. Learn about the amazing animals that inhabit dense tropical jungles, the interconnection of species, and how important conservation efforts are to these beautiful but fragile environments. This bunk supports Colorado Academic Science Standard 2.3 for 4th grade and 2.2 for 6th grade.

CampOUTS

Grades K - 12 | June  - September

Bunk with the Beasts CampOUTs are an overnight adventure for your School, Community, or Scout groups at Denver Zoo. You'll enjoy private tours of the Zoo after hours, a campout dinner, live animal encounters, and campfire treats. You will then conclude the evening by camping out underneath the stars in our safari tents and enjoy breakfast in the morning!

 

Overnight Waiver

A waiver must be completed for all participants attending an overnight (child and adult), and turned in the night of your program. Spanish language waivers are available upon request.

Cancellations or Refunds

This is a nonrefundable program. We encourage you to find age-appropriate substitutes if your participants cannot attend. Your overnight adventure will take place in any type of weather. Outdoor activities occur “rain, snow, or shine” so please bring appropriate clothing and gear. If the Zoo must cancel a program due to weather, transfers or full refunds will be issued.
