How long is my membership valid?

Your membership is valid for one full year from the time of purchase.

How can I purchase or renew a Zoo membership?

We offer four easy options:

  1. Online
  2. By phone - call the Guest Care Center at 720-337-1400 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., seven days a week. Purchases by phone will be accepted with a MasterCard, Visa or Discover card.
  3. In person - come into the Boettcher Welcome Center located at the Zoo's Main Entrance seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from March 1 to October 31, and between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. from November 1 to February 28. We will process your membership and give you your permanent membership cards right away.

At what age do you charge admission for a child?

We charge admission for children age 3 and above. Children age 2 and younger are admitted free.

How old must I be to have a membership in my name? 

You must be at least 16 years or older to have a membership in your name.

How long will it take to recieve my membership cards?

If you come to the Zoo, you will receive your cards right away. If you submit your application by mail, online or by phone, your membership will be processed and mailed to you within five days-please allow USPS additional time to deliver your membership packet.

How many cards will I receive?

The number of cards you receive is determined by the category you have selected, but no more than two.

Can I loan out my membership card to a family member or friend? 

No, your membership card(s) and associated privileges are not transferable to any other individual. Your membership has a tremendous value. To protect the rights of our members, we will ask to see your photo ID, such as a driver's license, at the time of your visit.

Can I use my membership at other zoos?

No. At this time we do not participate in the reciprocity program.

What do I do it I lose my membership card?

Call the Guest Care Center at 720-337-1400, Option 2 to report lost cards or visit the Boettcher Welcome Center at the main entrance. There is a $10 fee for replacement cards.

Estimated Fair Market Value of Benefits: The Internal Revenue Service has issued guidelines that affect the charitable contribution portion of memberships. Under those guidelines, members may claim the amount of their membership fee, less the fair market value of benefits received. For Individual members, the fair market value of benefits received is not substantial. The estimated fair market value of benefits received for other categories are: Individual & Guest $21; Zoo for Two $21; Family $38; Family Plus $38; Friends of Denver Zoo $98.
